FELICIA BROWN
Felicia Brown is making room In the Founders Suite, a platform that invites business owners, particularly women and founders of color, a space to tell their story, talk about their “why” and share words of wisdom about business ownership.
Ms. Brown is Senior Advisor at AARP where she utilizes her over 25 years of experience leading the Work and Jobs consumer strategy. She recently led AARP’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, a national program placing particular emphasis on women and founders of color. Among some of her accomplishments are, creator of AARP’s Meet the Founder storytelling series, How She Did It Podcast, AARP’s Small Business Newsletter and the Small Business Resource Center for the 50+ website. She is also a contributing writer for Cheryl Magazine.
Ms. Brown is an alumnae and active member of the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T) Washington, DC Alumni Chapter, where she served as First and Second Vice Presidents and the Board of Director, Chair. She’s also active in the DC Aggie Athletic Foundation (AAF) and a former member of the NCA&T National Alumni Board.
Community service is at the heart of who she is and what she does. Ms Brown is a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, and an active member of the Rho Mu Omega Chapter, located in Washington DC. There she served as Board Member for DC Pearls III Foundation. She’s a former member of the Women’s Business Development Center of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Advisory Committee and serves as a volunteer for Suited for Change She is a recipient of the Washington DC Alumni Association Hall of Fame (2014), received the Small Business Advocate Award from the Planning Suite and the Appreciation Award from AARP Georgia.
Ms. Brown loves speaking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
